Hi, and a warm welcome to my studio webpage!  My name is Sara Kreilein and I am the owner and teacher at Sara’s Piano Studio, LLC — located on the west side of Indianapolis, Indiana.  I am so glad you have stopped by and taken an interest in piano lessons; learning to play the piano is such a rewarding endeavor!

A little bit about me...

Music has always been an influential part of my life.  I have been playing piano for over twenty years and first began teaching in 2008.  I have taught piano full-time since 2013.  I completed a significant amount of music coursework during my time in college in the areas of applied piano, music theory, aural skills, an ensembles.  I was blessed to study piano with some wonderful private teachers during college who are nationally and internationally known — Dr. Andrew Hisey, Dr. E.J. Choe, Dr. Alan Weinberg, and Dr. Dana Milan.  I have continuing education performance and piano pedagogy certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music, receiving First Class Honors and Honors with Distinction.  In 2020, I began publishing compositions to especially meet the learning needs of growing piano students.  My compositions are being played by piano students throughout the world and are available for purchase as instant PDF download for teachers in Studio License at sellfy.com/sarakreileinpianomusic.  In addition to teaching, composing, and performing, I serve as chair of the local Indiana Federation of Music Clubs Hendricks County Junior Festival.  The yearly festival affords over three hundred students in the area the opportunity to be professionally judged in the areas of music performance and more.  Students receive written critiques as well as trophies and ribbons based on their preparedness and achievements.  Upper level students with high ratings have the opportunity to advance to the State level of competition.

My favorite aspect of teaching is getting to witness, firsthand, how much joy music can bring to my students and to those whom they share it with!  I get to help them, not only enjoy music and grow as musicians, but grow as people.  My students develop confidence in their abilities, which carries over to all other areas of life.  I always like to say, "Music lessons are not just music lessons, but life lessons."
